Superintendent shares

Greetings Warrior Families!

I have some great news! Kootenai School District has been approved to
offer free breakfast and lunch to all children ages 1-18 that either live in
the school district, or attend Kootenai School District regardless of current
meal status.  Starting Monday September 11, 2020 our wonderful food
service will begin this new program.  We will be utilizing our school
cafeteria as a closed site; this means only students currently enrolled may
come into the cafeteria to receive their meals.

If you are currently homeschooling or your children are not old enough to attend school, and you would like to take advantage of these meals, please call Megan Galea at 208-689-3511 or email mgalea@sd274.com to sign up. You will
need to fill out some paperwork to start this meal service.  Meals will
not be delivered as they were last spring, but rather the meals will need to be
picked-up at Harrison Elementary, during the hours of 7:30 am to 11:00 am.
This is only for children 1-18 years of age and not for adults.

We are able to offer this program of free meals until December 31, 2020 or until the funding for this program runs out.  If you currently have paid on your students’ meal service accounts, that money will remain on their lunch account for when this service is discontinued. This program is being offered through the CARES Act.

Update: We are able to extend this offer for free meals until June 30, 2021 or until the funding for this program runs out.
