Scott Davis, Superintendent, Principal of Harrison Elementary School
I am happy to be coming back for another year here in our amazing Kootenai school district. My wife Julie and I have two kids, Nick and Emma, who have both recently graduated from high school. Our family enjoys camping, watersports and the outdoors in general. Nick is working and starting school in the Fall with dreams of becoming a dentist. Emma is an aspiring actress, who has spent her first year out of high school in acting school. Julie is an RN, specializing in interventional radiology. She travels quite a bit and is very active in her field. This is my 26th year in education and my 13th as a school administrator. I have a lot of fun doing this work, and enjoy kids of all ages. I grew up nine houses down the street from my maternal grandparents. My grandfather was a middle school woodshop and math teacher, who fought under General Patton in World War II. He was an amazing educator and a great storyteller. My grandmother was an amazing lady, she went to college to become a child psychologist and never got around to actually working. My brother and I were with both of them constantly, growing up and had many great experiences with both her and my grandfather. My grandmother taught me to read, and my grandfather taught me to fish, and I was lucky. My dad was a police officer, when I was a young kid and later became an executive at the Mattel Toy Company and then owned his own business for many years. My mother was a bookkeeper and accountant when I was growing up. We were lucky kids and we did get to be “toy testers”, when my dad worked at Mattel. I grew up and had a good childhood, and this affects the way I work with kids. I know that good school experiences and a school partnership with parents can have a great impact on student success in school.
